INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PEACE

The Emotional Wellness Center, a Local Healing Place of Inspiration, Motivation and Transformation, is Inviting the Entire Community to Plan Activities to Celebrate the International Day of Peace, September 21, 2016.

The International Day of Peace is celebrated throughout the world on September 21, 2016. A day dedicated to peace, it is also known as World Peace Day.

This is a day in which elementary and secondary schools, colleges and universities, churches, all work places and offices, community centers, sports teams, practically all entities, can plan simple activities which encourage more peaceful and kinder relationships.

The following are examples of a few activities:

In work place meetings or during class time, provide time for and then ask people to share what peace and kindness means to them.

Remind children/students and adults of several different ways to resolve conflicts.

Use peace and kindness as the theme for activities, such as, making school or office posters or signs, posting peaceful or kindness quotes to appropriate social media, writing notes of peace or kindness and mailing it to family or friends, planning a special menu for lunch or dinner or planning a special sports game.

More activities, including kindness quotes and facts about kindness for work places, sports, communities, schools, for families and for animals, can be found on these websites www.internationaldayofpeace.org/actions/ , www.randomactsofkindness.org and http://www.peaceoneday.org/ .
