Indian River Lagoon Council Executive Director to present

Dr. DeFreese

Indian River Lagoon Council Executive Director to present at Chamber's Government Affairs Committee Meeting April 1!

Dr. Duane DeFreese, executive director of the Indian River Lagoon Council will be the special guest of the Chamber's Government Affairs Committee at their next meeting on Friday, April 1 at 8:00 a.m. at the Chamber's Merritt Island office.

The recent deaths of hundreds of thousands of fish in the Indian River Lagoon has caused great concern, especially in Central Brevard, where a majority perished. The lagoon's poor health negatively impacts our quality of life, and could have a detrimental effect on many businesses that rely on its resources for a living.

Dr. DeFreese will share information and his perspectives on the issue, along with the state of the lagoon and actions being taken to return it back to a healthy state.

The Indian River Lagoon Council is the managing entity of the The Indian River lagoon National Estuary Program (IRLNEP) a special district of Florida that was established in 2015.

The meeting is open to all Chamber partners and there is no charge to attend.
