Friends for Animals Sanctuary closer to opening the only no-kill sanctuary

Classic Reflections Car Club and host venue Unos Pizzeria & Grill in Viera help raise funds for Brevard County's only no-kill domestic animal sanctuary in March

Katherine Johnson, today announced the Friends for Animals Sanctuary (FFAS) has teamed up with Uno Pizzeria & Grill and Classic Reflections Car Club to create a fun way to raise funds for Brevard County’s only no-kill sanctuary for domestic animals.

Uno Pizzeria, located at 8260 N. Wickham Rd. in Viera, will be the host venue for the FFAS 2016 Classic Car & Truck Show on Saturday March12, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., coordinated by Classic Reflections Car Club. This is a free event for the public and all proceeds from the show benefit the construction of the animal sanctuary.

“Every event we hold brings us a little closer to our grand opening,” Johnson said. “It seems I’ve been working my whole life toward this goal and I get so eager to see us - all of Brevard County - working together to make it a reality.”

FFAS is seeking corporate sponsorships, which start at just $50, for the event. Vendor tables are available for $25. Owners and mangers interested in supporting the Sanctuary and promoting their businesses are encouraged to email Kurzinskyrn@yahoo.com or call 330-323-6158 for more information.

“Our volunteers never cease to amaze me,” Johnson said. “They spend their personal time dreaming up and planning these amazing fundraisers and then they find local businesses that are so generous and willing to give back to the community. We’ve worked with Uno’s before and they are extremely generous. I fully expect to be blown away by the sponsors and vendors and all the people who will come out to support us on March 12th.”

Car Show coordinator Shellie Wolfe said that anyone who pre-registers a vehicle will receive a $10 gift card for a return trip to Uno's. “The cost to register a vehicle for the show is only $10 and we are going to present trophies to the car owners. There will be all sorts of gifts for those who attend. We’ll sell tickets for grab bags a 50/50 "opportunity drawing," and of course, all that delicious food from Uno’s.”

Wolfe has arranged to have Miss Daisy, an unofficial FFAS mascot, at the event for photo opportunities with children of all ages. "I'm still firming up some of the details for kid's activities, but we're going to have a DJ there, playing music from the '50s and '60s. That's always fun," Wolfe said.

Tax deductible donations may be sent to FFAS, 5000 N. Wickham Rd., Suite 110, Melbourne, FL  32935.
