L.A. talent manager coming to Rockledge for workshop

Prodigy Talent Training presents L.A. talent manager Ryan Glasgow for 2-day workshop

Prodigy Talent Training in Rockledge will host Los Angeles-based talent manager Ryan Glasgow for an exclusive workshop for aspiring actors from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 1, and Sunday, Oct. 2.

Glasgow’s “Audition Therapy” workshop at 634 Barnes Blvd., Suite 202, Rockledge, is designed to take the stress out of auditions and help actors age 11 and up get booked for movie, television, theater and modeling gigs.

A former actor and touring singer, Glasgow worked as a Hollywood agent for Talentworks, the Los Angeles agency responsible for discovering such stars as Zac Efron and James Franco. In 2004, Glasgow moved into management. Some of his clients have appeared in such shows as “Wizards of Waverly Place,” “It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia,” “CSI” and “House.”

On Day 1 of the workshop, participants will learn about getting perfect head shots for commercial and theatrical use, engage in a filmed audition between actor and reader with feedback and individual guidance, and gain insights into expanding their presence on social media.

On Day 2, participants will present up to three prepared scenes and at least one 60-to 120-second monologue, take part in a scene study, and watch tapes from the previous two classes to spot improvements and discuss ways to make even better taped submissions, present even better showcases and market themselves better.

“What I like about Ryan is that he’ll find the good in everybody, but he understands that this business is fickle and it’s difficult and there are lots of risks, but there are lots of rewards and there’s a lot of fun  and fulfillment,” said Jonathan McFadden, owner of Prodigy Talent Training. “He will tell you what you’re doing right, but he will also tell you what you’re doing wrong and how to fix it in a positive, honest, entertaining and engaging way.”

Tuition is $200 for both days. All mailed payments or payments made in person must be made by 10 p.m. Sept. 26.  A gourmet lunch from Any Occasion Catering is available each day of the workshop for $8.
