PALM BAY FIREFIGHTERS AND WALMART TO HELP FEED HUNGRY KIDS

On Saturday, October 1 from 9:00AM to 1:00PM, the Palm Bay Firefighters will host their annual Ladder Climb to raise money for The Children’s Hunger Project.  The exciting family event will be in the parking lot of the Walmart store on Malabar Road in Palm Bay.  A Palm Bay Firefighter will climb their 100-foot aerial ladder truck for each gift card purchased at the Malabar Road Walmart store during the event.

“Young school children should not be coming to school hungry on Monday mornings,” said Firefighter John Mellace, who is helping to coordinate the event.  “The Children’s Hunger Project provides weekend food for these hungry children.  The Palm Bay Firefighters with support from Walmart will do what is necessary to help them.  This is good for the kids and good for our community as a whole.”

Money raised will be used to purchase food for distribution to local children that are coming to school hungry on Monday mornings.  Associates at the Malabar Road Walmart store will assist the firefighters in their efforts to raise money for the local charity.
