About Brevard Zoo

Connecting visitors to the natural world for over 20 years, Brevard Zoo is a leader in wildlife conservation on the Space Coast. Over 400,000 guests annually enjoy exhilarating wildlife adventures, intimate animal encounters, and valuable educational experiences.

It began as a small group of people with a big dream: building a zoo. A world-class zoo that would serve as a conservation hub where people could gather to learn about animals. A place to escape from the urban world and get closer to nature, to be reminded of the diversity of the life with which we share this planet. With the help of more than 16,000 volunteers the Zoo was truly built by the community.

Brevard Zoo opened in March, 1994, with only a few exhibits. Today, Brevard Zoo is a leading institution according to the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and one of the areas most treasured attractions.

What We Offer

Wildlife Conservation through Education and Participation

Brevard Zoo offers many ways for you to connect with nature through activities, exhibits, education, conservation and volunteer opportunities.

Experience wildlife like never before. Brevard Zoo is the only zoo in the country where you can kayak around an animal exhibit. Challenge yourself on one of five courses at Treetop Trek, navigating thrilling elements high up in the trees and soaring along fast zip lines.

Animals & Exhibits
Animals can be viewed in their natural environments with our amazing exhibits and natural habitats. Feed gentle giraffe and colorful parrots, touch colossal rhinos, meet lemurs and a sloth (these activities are not included in Zoo admission.) Enjoy special keeper chats throughout the day and all the Florida flora.

Twenty-five cents of each Zoo admission and $5 of each Zoo membership goes to support wildlife conservation initiatives. We are heavily involved in local conservation programs, facilitating and supporting efforts to protect sea turtles, Florida scrub-jays, mangroves and oysters, just to name a few. We also are a part of a much larger picture. As an accredited institution, we are one of 230 organizations that collectively spend $350 million a year on wildlife conservation programs around the world.

Brevard Zoo offers many opportunities for youth to engage and connect with nature. We offer a variety of programs for children ages 2 to 16, including toddler programs, night hikes, overnights, birthday parties, homeschool and teen programs, and much more.

Come be a part of our team! We offer several opportunities to volunteer.
