Laurel Nugent is a sole practitioner focusing primarily on transactional business law and landlord tenant law. Her firm, Nugent Law, P.A. also handles matters involving civil litigation, mediation, international law, and basic estate planning. She is licensed to practice law in Florida and Oregon and is also a Florida Supreme Court Certified County Mediator. Having practiced both domestically and internationally, Laurel has experience with non-profit and for-profit organizations as well as government agencies.
Laurel graduated from Vermont Law School where she participated in a dual degree program with the University of Cergy-Pontoise in France where she earned two masters degrees in business law, focusing primarily on in-house counsel services. While in Paris, she worked with the lawfirm DJP Avocats where she assisted with the international tax consequences of Gamestops acquisition of its French counterpart and wrote a thesis on international R&D tax credit.
Laurel has also worked in the areas of regulatory compliance and as corporate counsel to local businesses with international transactions.
In her free time, Laurel soaks up as much time as she can with her 11 month old daughter, and coaches a dragon boat team under Space Coast Dragon Boat Club.
