LEAD. ENGAGE. ACHIEVE. DEVELOP.

LEAD Brevard – the organization. The mission - working together to strengthen our community by inspiring people to lead.

Our signature program - Leadership Brevard - since 1985 – is a program with an annual cohort of leaders convened to learn about the community, build an internal network and connect with leaders and issues … the program enhances the civic participation of community leaders within Brevard County.

It is an in-depth exploration of county issues; unparalleled networking; collaborative civic engagement; unique on site visits and experiences and results in an alumni network of over 1100 influential local leaders.

Leadership Action Projects

An integral part of the Leadership Brevard experience are the Leadership Action Projects, selected via an RFP process; teams of Leadership Brevard participants work with projects assisting nonprofits or local municipalities over the course of the Leadership Brevard program. In the 2019-2020 program year, the following projects are underway and will generate approximately 2600 volunteer hours and will represent $66,118.00 * in economic impact to our community. (* Independent Sector values volunteer hours at $25.43 https://independentsector.org/value-of-volunteer-time-2018/)

RECON Brevard – the adventure continues for Leadership Brevard alumni and others. Focused on people, places and possibilities, these engagement events features behind the scenes ‘adventure’ that bring alumni and friends together. Walking tours of downtowns under development or insiders tours and experiences make this a way to connect with each other and with what’s new in our community. Plans to attend a VIP launch party, a visit to the renovated lighthouse and keepers cottage on Cape Canaveral Air Force Station and who knows’ what’s next?

With support from the Community Foundation for Brevard, a board governance workshop with a nationally recognized facilitator has been an annual event since 2011. Building the capacity of your board of directors to understand and fulfill their roles helps you build the capacity of the organization and ultimately the nonprofit sector and the community as a whole.
