Lemonade Stand: Three Bros Bakery

NAMES & AGES:

Joshua Hannemann, 12

Nolan Hyatt, 12

Carson Sisler, 10

BUSINESS:

Three Bros Bakery

Business origin:

Three Bros Bakery began over a year ago in Cocoa Beach when Joshua Hannemann, Nolan Hyatt, and Carson Sisler were raising money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation. They have been on a team together for the past three years, raising money and shaving their heads for the organization that supports pediatric cancer research.

They took orders from friends and family and baked peanut butter and pumpkin dog treats for $5 per bag. But long after their heads were shaved at the St. Baldrick’s event, some of the customers called back asking for more dog treats.

The three “Bros” have been friends since Joshua and Nolan were in kindergarten together. Carson is Nolan’s younger brother, and they are all best buddies. In addition to raising money for St. Baldrick’s, the boys also help their friends raise money for other organizations, such as the Buddy Walk.

How it works:

They've added different flavor dog treats to provide a variety of choices like chicken and apple and also peanut butter and banana.

“We look up recipes online and then modify the ingredients to make the treats our own. Then we give them to our dogs, Rasta, Spooky and Skye to see if they really pass the taste test,” Carson said.

Three Bros Bakery participated in the Brevard Children’s Business Fair in March. They deemed it a huge success because they sold out of all of their treats! The judging committee also selected them to win the “Highest Business Potential” award.

“It was so fun!,” Nolan said. “Being a part of the Business Fair taught us a lot about how to run a business, and what we can do better next time.”

Joshua added: ”I couldn't believe we sold out of our dog treats so fast. This made us think maybe we could really have a business after this. "

For now, they bake all the treats in their own kitchens. They’ve recently experimented with a peanut butter and mint flavor that their own dogs happily tasted and approved. They hope to sell their treats at other events and will continue to bake treats to raise money for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation and other organizations that are close to their hearts.
