MEET: Clean Juice

As a registered nurse for many years, Steve Wright was all too familiar with the myriad of health issues that result from poor eating habits.

“You can exercise all you want, but you have to eat a healthy diet,” he said.

When researching a new business venture, Wright was impressed with Clean Juice, one of the country’s fastest growing franchises, because it ticked off all the healthy boxes.

Wright opened Clean Juice Melbourne in June of 2021 and has since rapidly grown a fan base eager to eat what is healthy — and tasty.

A robust USDA-certified organic juice and food bar, Clean Juice offers a menu of cold-pressed juices, fresh juices, smoothies, sandwiches, wraps and acai bowls.

The company began in the Charlotte, N.C., kitchen of Kat and Landon Eckles, a couple concerned about the integrity of the food they fed their five children. Kat, who calls herself a “recovering Taco Bell addict,” found a solution in juicing vegetables and blending them in smoothies that included a little banana for sweetness.

The family loved them, but the process was time consuming. So the Eckles searched for healthy options on the go, which they found, but none were certified organic. They decided to create their own brand.

Clean Juice is such a success story that in six years, the company has grown into more than 200 eateries around the country.

Wright was first introduced to the brand while living in Charlotte, so he was already sold on the concept even before he considered becoming a franchisee. His store at 6365 N. Wickham Rd. in Suntree’s Fresh Market plaza, sports a crisp, clean look with the franchise’s black-and-white color palette. The open kitchen and pantry allows customers to see and smell the produce and other healthy ingredients.

“Transparency is one of our core values,” Landon Eckles said.

The store attracts customers in all age brackets, from kids to seniors. The children’s menu teaches younger customers that eating healthy is also fun with items like the Peanut Butter Bowl, with bananas, maca root, maple syrup and almond milk topped with granola, banana and cacao nibs.

Other fan favorites include:

  • The Beach Bowl with acai, almond milk, bananas, coconut oil, granola, pineapple and toasted coconut.
  • Yummus Salad with hummus, greens, avocado, cucumber, feta, walnuts and dates.
  • Sandwiches like the Ultimate Grilled Cheese with toasted sprouted bread, cheddar, feta, provolone, hummus, tomato and spinach.

Clean Juice offers a selection of wellness shots and cleanses. Cleanses provide nutrient-packed juice that offer a significant amount of vitamins and minerals in easy-to-drink-bottles. It’s the perfect alternative for people who want to eat healthy but don’t have the time to eat 18 salads a day.
