Impact Awards Honor Those With Profound Local Influence

Feeling electrified for my sixth year at the Melbourne Regional Chamber, I want to thank our Chamber community for its continued investment and support in business growth, strategic connections and community building here on the Space Coast. Our community would not be where it is today without our partners, investors, ambassadors and staff.

Looking into the new year and returning to our monthly events, our staff at the Melbourne Regional Chamber has begun full-speed planning for our first signature event of the year, and it’s right around the corner.

Our 2023 Impact Awards and board installation will be Friday, Feb. 17 at the Hilton Melbourne. This is one of our largest and most important events of the year, bringing more than 300 partners together. The Impact Awards honors the Chamber’s board of directors and allows us to recognize individuals and organizations who have profoundly impacted the Space Coast community.

This year, we will be awarding Space Coast businesses in the following categories:

  • Community Excellence of the year
  • Corporate Impact of the Year
  • Business of the Year
  • Space Coast Young Professional of the Year
  • Ambassador of the Year
  • William R. “Bill” Ellis Legacy Award

The final award in particular is our most coveted and it is given to an individual who, through their dedication to the Melbourne Regional Chamber and the broader community, has significantly impacted the quality of life and business climate on the Space Coast.

Our theme for this year's Impact Awards is “Symphony of Stars.” Our 2023 Board Chair, Deborah Harmon revealed this year’s theme at our 2022 Community Leadership Retreat. As a teaser into the new year, we hosted a reception titled, “Songs of the Space Coast” where our partners dressed as their favorite decade, artist or genre of music. Carrying this musical theme into the new year, Harmon views music as a metaphor for how diverse we are as people and businesses in the community.

When there is a variety of music/opportunities in our life, it can enrich us as a community. When we play from the same sheet of music, we can be a more powerful voice. Harmon alludes to this with our partners and how we come together to unify the Space Coast community.

We hope to see you at our “Symphony of Stars” Impact Awards and Board Installation. We are all in this together. For more information on sponsorship opportunities, please visit www.MelbourneRegionalChamer.com
