Brevard County is one of the nation’s best markets for companies to move to in the current “post-pandemic” economic market, according to a 2023 report by relocation consulting firm Boyd Co. Inc.

Growth on the Space Coast has been summed up in some recent designations:

  • In 2021, the Milken Institute ranked Brevard second on the Best Economic Performing City Index.
  • The same report also designated Brevard as having the third best wage growth in the U.S. that year.
  • In 2019, the Milken Institute ranked Brevard as the most highly concentrated high-tech economy in Florida.
  • The “US News and World Report” 2021-2022 rankings of the 150 Best Places to Live in the USA put Brevard at No. 3 in Florida and No. 18 nationally.

Keeping up with the explosion of growth and development throughout the county is a challenge, but the Greater Palm Bay Chamber of Commerce has been providing a solution for years.

The 15th annual Mayors Breakfast is the Greater Palm Bay Chamber’s most popular event —  it sold out last year with over 300 attendees! The breakfast provides a level of exposure that is impossible to match, bringing together the 16 mayors from the cities and towns in Brevard at one time to provide an update on the initiatives and plans happening in their regions.

The room is filled with mayors, with public officials, business leaders, and community organizations. It’s a fabulous networking opportunity and chance to connect face-to-face. Sheriff Wayne Ivey is reprising his role as emcee and certainly will keep the audience entertained.

This event began 15 years ago with four mayors presenting to 42 people at the Holiday Inn Express & Suites on Malabar Road in Palm Bay. The focus was south Brevard, and in the initial years included mayors from Palm Bay, West Melbourne, Melbourne, Fellesmere, Grant-Valkaria, and Sebastian.

In 2016, the event morphed into a county-wide event showcasing every mayor — many people did not realize Brevard has 16 cities and towns, and the dynamic growth makes it difficult to know what is happening along this 70-mile county. The event has turned into an opportunity for some mayors to brag about the tremendous growth in their communities. For others, their lack of growth is a badge of honor as their constituents are happy with the small-town way of life.

Whether you are looking to get information about the county in its entirety, want to make connections with elected officials, or just want to come for a premier networking opportunity, this is a fun and informative event.
