Resolve to Visit a Museum

We are fortunate to have several museums in North Brevard. Make a resolution to visit, perhaps make it a regular family outing once a month to explore and learn something new. Hours and operations have been impacted by the coronavirus, so please check hours and procedures before you go.

Happy exploring!

Harry T and Harriette V Moore Memorial Park

2180 Freedom Ave., Mims

Harryharriettemoore.org

This county facility is more than a tribute to the local couple whose lives were lost tragically early in the civil rights movement. The multi-faceted center also challenges today’s global civil and human rights issues. Tours of the Moores’ replica house and exhibition galleries are available for individuals and groups.

North Brevard Historical Museum

301 South Washington Ave., Titusville

Nbbd.com/good/history

This volunteer-run museum documents early life in North Brevard and honors the individuals and families that helped our community grow. They have an extensive library of city directories dating back to 1926, school yearbooks and many historical photos including panoramic images of the area.

American Space Museum

308 Pine Street, TItusville

Spacewalkoffame.org

This museum honors all of America’s space programs and the workers who made space exploration possible. It’s home to personal collections and rare artifacts from space workers, astronauts, NASA and space contractor companies. The docents, who have worked on various missions and vehicles over the years, graciously share personal stories and memories to make the exhibits come to life. Once you’ve toured the museum, make sure you visit Spaceview Park and see the monuments for each of the American space program vehicles: Mercury, Gemini, Apollo and Shuttle, as well as an In the Line of Duty monument dedicated to those that lost their lives in the pursuit of space exploration.

Browse the museum collection of artifacts from all branches of service and across all conflicts, and then explore the hangars filled with more than 50 historic combat aircraft. Volunteers will guide you through history and share their personal knowledge and memories.

American Police Hall of Fame Museum

6350 Horizon Drive, Titusville

This museum is dedicated to American law enforcement and includes a memorial to law enforcement officers killed in the line of duty. The nearly 11,000 artifacts include a large collection of antique vehicles, decommissioned firearms and law enforcement tools. The facility also hosts a state-of-the-art public indoor shooting range, and is embarking on a capital campaign to build the Walk of Heroes and the Eternal Flame Monument.
