Keep the Faith

As we roll into the fourth quarter of 2017, I find myself reflecting on all the growth and changes we have experienced over the last year.  In October 2016, we launched the first EverythingBrevard.com Magazine. The vision was embraced by the team, and the support from the community was overwhelming. In just 12 months, the magazine has nearly doubled in size. We have hired an editor and staff photographer, employed the talents of many freelance writers and engaged with numerous industry professionals here in Brevard County to bring you tips and strategies on growing your business and maintaining a balanced life.

It is our mission to foster a healthy community where families and businesses thrive. Sharing resources and new connections combined with stories of the people who enrich our lives is our why.

In 1995, I left the security of a 9-5 job and took a leap of faith into entrepreneurship. I published a direct-mail coupon magazine. My husband and I had five children and another business. I was scared yet excited at the same time. My kids were my life and the idea of being able to work yet have the freedom and flexibility to be involved in each of their schedules was appealing. It was during that time that I realized my passion for building relationships with local business owners. Hearing their stories of success, trials and determination inspired me and has been a driving force ever since.

In this issue, you will read many stories about driving forces and motivation.

  • The engineer who left a Fortune 500 company to lead the non-profit Brevard Achievement Center.
  • The full-time mom who was widowed and took charge to keep her husband’s dream alive at Premiere Theatres Oaks 10.
  • The dentist who makes sure many local families have a special meal at Christmas.
  • The mother who’s made sure her son with special needs has every opportunity in life, and who has now built a dream campus for many others.

Since 2011 when we started the EverythingBrevard.com website, I have had friends, mentors and community leaders tell me that EverythingBrevard.com needs to have an event. I have given this much thought over the years. Wanting to be unique, I considered a community beach barbecue or a day of dance based on the popular TV show “So You Think You Can Dance,” but neither of those clicked.  I wanted something more.

It wasn’t until this past spring while riding my bike that the vision was clear. As I shared the idea, it took on a life of its own. Born from the path of my own wellness journey, I am excited to invite you to the 2018 Unwrap the Best You! A unique gathering of women. A fun life- and heart-changing experience designed to stimulate new possibilities and spark your passion. A day of educating, inspiring and motivating women on diverse topics that will help feed all aspects of your life. You can find the event details on pages 34-35. If you are interested in sponsorship or vendor opportunities, please email me at Tracy@EverythingBrevard.com or call me at 321-960-3453. You can also find details at unwrapthebestyou.com

I wish you a wonderful holiday season and thank you for your continued support of our mission. We look forward to serving our community in 2018.

Blessings,

Tracy
