Goodbye Magazine, Hello 10X Digital

Socrates said, “The secret of change is to focus all of your energy, not on fighting the old, but on building the new.”  We launched our digital platform 12 years ago today, before digital was a thing. Seven years in, we launched our beautiful glossy magazine, dove into social media and established our good-living voice here on the Space Coast. Today, comes full circle. We will no longer be printing our magazine. Instead, we will do what I do best — dive in, take massive action and embrace change.  

Online journalism has been on the rise since 1995 when Salon magazine was the first online only magazine. In a short amount of time, the site was generating 5.8 million monthly visitors, which in turn triggered a rush for others to join the online journalism community. 

In more recent years, other lifestyle and pop culture magazine titles have made the shift to digital.

Carena Marchi from magazine publishing software company The Magazine Manager stated in a September 2022 article, “...the last few years have seen media consumers rely even more heavily than usual on phones, tablets, and practically any screen they can get their hands on to access content.” She further suggests that adapting to a life dominated by bright screens was inevitable, regardless of the pandemic.

It has been an unprecedented couple of years. The pandemic has influenced many of us to change the way we do business. We can now look back and see that technology has made our community stronger and more responsive. From distributing information to making recommendations and turning to more easily accessible experts and influencers, the power of technology has changed our lives for good.

Magazines have become pretty coffee table accessories while stories and news are being read online at an exponential rate. It’s time to go beyond print and meet our audiences where they are. To lead current market trends, balance sustainability, and expand our reach, our team has been laying the groundwork and preparing to shift 100% into the digital space.

We have seen tremendous organic growth in our online community. Just last year, we had over 350,000 unique website visitors, 12 million hits, and a social reach of more than 720,000. We proudly continue to outrank the reach of other local marketing/media companies year over year through the power of our advanced website technologies, authentic storytelling style, and through leveraging of our partnerships within the community. Together we are better.

We have been sharing stories and smiles on the Space Coast since 2011. No other media attracts the professional, the senior, and the family segments of our community all in one alluring progressive package like ours. Our audience is active, educated, entrepreneurial, and civic-minded. They want to be informed, stay connected, and be engaged with their community and its resources.

We have authentically grown a community of devoted fans, followers and friends. And through the power of digital media, we are far better connected than ever. As an established, highly respected media brand, we’ve remained consistently committed to sharing messages and stories that inspire and unite. Our role is to shine light on what’s going RIGHT within our community.
