Shopping and Supporting Local Builds a Stronger Community

It is with much gratitude that I dedicate this issue of the EverythingBrevard.com magazine to our incredible partners and supporters. Partners include past and present advertisers; our contributors, writers and photographers; and the entrepreneurs who trust us enough to let us share their stories.

2021 has been a challenging year for all. Together we are slowly reimagining life and business. I am deeply appreciative to my amazing team — they stayed the course, made pivots, learned lessons, and continued to deliver a top-notch product that makes an impact in the lives of our readers and community. At the core, it is our work ethic, creativity and passion for small business that drives this team and our success.

EverythingBrevard.com is a hyper-local lifestyle media company on a mission to empower the people in our community and beyond. We believe everyone has a story to tell, a gift to share and a dream to build. There are no limits when you are open to new ideas, making new connections and following your dreams.

It’s our resistance to change, fear of failure, and the unique challenges we each face that hold us back. EverythingBrevard.com helps you overcome those obstacles by sharing inspiring stories of hope, courage and sheer determination — to help you unleash your full potential.

Over the past two decades, I have chased my dreams with passion and purpose. Through these dreams, I’ve met and had the opportunity to work with some incredible people. There’s truly nothing I love more than a collaboration.

“Together, ordinary people can achieve extraordinary results.”

Shop Local

As we move into the holiday season, look for ways to uplift those around you. Despite everything going on in the world, we still have a lot to be grateful for.

Local businesses create most of the economic growth in communities while simultaneously improving the stability. When we shop local, more of our money stays local and directly impacts jobs. Multiple studies show that small-business owners reinvest in the local economy at a higher rate than chains do. Together, let’s make shopping local a priority this season.

Check out our holiday gift guide on page 17 for local gift ideas, and think local, overall:

  • Farmers markets are perfect for finding plants, handmade gifts, art and delicious items like jams, spices, honey, and custom oil blends — all of which can be used in gift baskets.
  • Historic downtowns in Melbourne, Cocoa Village, Cocoa Beach, Eau Gallie and Titusville offer unique gifting opportunities and experiences. Try axe throwing, escape rooms, theatre tickets, dining, art classes and boutique shopping.
  • Vintage stores harbor undiscovered treasures.
  • Local artisans offer unique finds — I’ve gifted cutting boards, comfy quilts, signs, candles, handbags, jewelry, and antique tools that leave the recipient feeling loved.

Let the shopping begin.
