Shop Small in Titusville

In North Brevard, we are excited to host our Second Annual Small Business Saturday Shop Local event on Saturday, Nov. 30. After a successful first year event where we reached 750 shoppers, we are looking forward to a bigger and better event this year.

The goal of this event is to get people to look past the Black Friday and Cyber Monday advertising, and set aside some of their holiday shopping budget for our local providers. Small Business Saturday was first introduced as a companion to Black Friday and Cyber Monday by American Express in 2010. Primarily it was a social campaign in the United States designed to encourage shopping at local brick and mortar businesses, and quickly gained in popularity to spread to the UK in 2013. Now, the Small Business Saturday Facebook page has 3.4 million followers, and the hashtag #shopsmall is BIG!

So, what can you expect from the Small Business Saturday Shop Local event?

Coupons and special offers! Our merchants are already working on their special deals for the event. Some of those specials may only happen on Small Business Saturday but others may extend through more of the holiday shopping season. Shoppers can pick up their goody bags with all of the discounts and specials at two locations this year:

  • Titusville Welcome Center, 419 South Hopkins Ave.
  • Titusville Mall, 3550 South Washington Ave.

The first 1,000 shoppers who visit us are guaranteed a goody bag, so don’t wait too long! We will open the doors to the welcome center at 9 a.m. and have goodies to fuel you up for your day of shopping and savings.

Door prizes and giveaways

You can register for door prizes, which will be given away every half hour throughout the day. In addition, we have sponsor locations that will be doing their own drawings at specific times during the day. Make sure you register for drawings when picking up your goody bag.

Holiday shopping marketplace

New to this year’s event is an opportunity to support home-based businesses at our pop-up market in Titusville Mall. Local businesses that aren’t quite ready for their own brick and mortar storefront will be showcased inside the mall, displaying their products and services.

So mark your calendar for Saturday, Nov. 30. Tell your friends and family about the event and encourage them to join you for a fun-filled day supporting local businesses.
