14th Annual Fiesta Brevard, Huge Success for Local Non-Profits
MERRITT ISLAND, FL – The Non-Profit Task Force, a committee of the Cocoa
Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce, hosted its 14th Annual Fiesta Brevard event on Friday, April 27th at Riverfront Park in Cocoa Village.
Seventeen organizations participated, including those that serve children,
families and seniors, and those that care for animals and promote community service.
The event was a fundraising opportunity to help support each Non-Profit’s mission. Along with sharing information, each organization offered a game and/or raffle item. Brevard's Best Salsa is a coveted title among salsa chefs and aficionados. This year, DIYM Catering was chosen in a blind taste test by a panel of celebrity judges as the Judges’ Choice 1st Place Award winner, with their signature “Mango Bango – Hot Salsa”. Second place winner was 2Sisters Natural Foods, “Sunshine Salsa – Hot”. Third place went to Capt’n Tony’s – “Medium Pirate Salsa”.
The People’s Choice 1st Place award was presented to DIYM Catering. Second and Third Place was awarded to Capt’n Tony’s for their Medium & Hot Salsas.
The Best Dressed Booth went to the following non-profit winners for their over
the top themes and decorations. First place went to Coastal Poodle Rescue, 2nd place was awarded to Cocoa Beach Community Church, Brevard Humane Society won 3rd place. The event also had a Fiesta Hat Contest. In the Adult Division, first place went to Ann Schawe; second place went to Jessica Greinlee; and third place went to Debbie Tartaglia. In the children’s division, Celine Lee won.
Special thanks to all of the non-profit organizations that participated in Fiesta Brevard: The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce was established in 1968 and serves Cape Canaveral, Cocoa, Cocoa Beach, Kennedy Space Center, Merritt Island, Patrick Air Force Base, Port St. John, Rockledge, Palm Shores, Suntree and Viera. The Non-Profit Task Force was founded in 2003.
