Middle School Survival Camp
Palm Bay Academy will be offering a one-week Middle School Survival Camp this summer for middle school students across Brevard. The survival camp will be hosted at Palm Bay Academy’s Middle School campus from 9 a.m. to noon on June 18 through June 22 for rising 7th and 8th graders and 9 a.m. to noon on June 25th through June 29th for rising 6th graders. The cost will be $25 per student for the week. During the week students will learn organizational and leadership skills necessary to navigate the halls of any middle school.
For student’s leadership is a defining trait that should be embraced so that they may rise to the top or at least survive the daily challenges of school. Throughout the week students will gain the knowledge they need on how to be their “best selves.”
Students will have an opportunity to work with other students, make friends, and learn how to shine. The camp will stress student independence, provides tips on how to maintain a backpack, and teach students how manage homework. Interactive sessions are designed to be as much fun as they are informational. There will also be a quick daily writing exercise with immediate feedback.
In addition, there will be a parent seminar to discuss how to help your student continue to be successful and how to help your student use the techniques they learned during camp.
