"Protecting Our Lagoon" with Dr. Duane De Freese at Titusville Chamber Luncheon

On Wednesday, January 10th, we will be reminded of how delicate and important wildlife and natural resources are to our way of life. Dr. Duane De Freese, Executive Director of the Indian River Lagoon Council will be the keynote speaker at the Chamber luncheon, which takes place from 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at La Cita Golf & Country Club.
 
Dr. Duane De Freese, Ph.D. has been a leader in most of the conservation efforts surrounding the Indian River lagoon and estuary for the past 30 years. He currently is working with federal, state and local government agencies, scientific research organizations, academic institutions and industry representatives to develop long-term goals for protecting and nourishing our fragile and unique ecosystem. At the luncheon, Dr. De Freese will discuss current restorative and protective projects taking place along the lagoon.
We also will honor three Outstanding Young Adults (OYAs) Jason Garrett(Astronaut High School), Alana Milliord (Space Coast Jr./Sr. High School), and
Logan Collier (Titusville High School). OYAs are North Brevard seniors who excel in academics, extra curricular activities and community service. They will be congratulated by representatives from Jess Parrish Medical Foundation and
Community Credit Union - the OYA program sponsors.
La Cita Golf & Country Clubis located at 777 Country Club Drive in Titusville. Doors will open for registration and networking at 11:30 a.m., with the program beginning at noon. Cost to attend the luncheon is $20.00 (member price) or $25.00 for non-members and walk-ins.
