Viera Builders Gives Back to Families of Brevard County

Viera Builders, Inc. donates furniture to Family Promise of Brevard.
Viera, Fla. – May 25, 2018 – Viera Builders, Inc., the core home builder for the master-planned community of Viera, Florida, have recently found a new home for their leftover furniture from sold model homes. Earlier this month Viera Builders representatives reached out to the local non-profit organization, Family Promise of Brevard, to see if they would be interested in looking through the company’s storage units of furniture that previously decorated some of Viera’s model homes.

Family Promise of Brevard’s mission is to end family homelessness in Brevard County by collaborating with their community to provide families the support and resources they need to put themselves on a path towards long-term housing stability. The organization has a vision that every family in Brevard County has safe, affordable housing and the resources to achieve self-sufficiency and lasting independence. Family Promise of Brevard recognizes that when a family moves from homelessness to housing they will be in need of the very basic necessities that families normally have within the home.

“Viera Builders, Inc. was delighted to be given the opportunity to bless this family with furniture for their home, says Bill Moore, Viera Builders President. Family Promise of Brevard is a terrific organization that is making a significant impact in our community and we are honored to be able to assist them whenever we can.”

“I think of Family Promise of Brevard as a Launchpad, says Stephen. We were lucky to be in the program, like winning the lottery.” The family of four, Stephen and his three boys, 12, 15, and 18, found themselves homeless after Hurricane Irma shook our community. After just two weeks of entering Family Promise of Brevard’s shelter program, Stephen found a permanent, sustainable source of income and two weeks after that he found a home on Merritt Island for him and his family. “We had so many opportunities to learn how to use every resource available to get ourselves into housing. It’s fitting that the program is on the Space Coast because it’s where we were able to launch.”

Executive Director for Family Promise of Brevard, Tara Pagliarini remarked, “Viera Builders providing furniture to Stephen and his family not only helps them use their existing funds towards their housing rather than on furniture, but it also sends the message that our community cares about their quality of life and long-term success.”

Viera Builders, Inc. reflects the values of its parent company, A. Duda & Sons, Inc., whose purpose is to multiply and share God’s blessings by supporting the community through charitable giving and volunteer work. Viera Builders has been a proud supporter of Family Promise of Brevard in the past and hopes to continue to partner with the organization, as they are able, in the future.
