Women We Love annual luncheon fosters friendships through storytelling

Casual interactions can turn into lifelong friendships and those relationships, usually woven by women, are the fabric of any community. It is these very relationships that are celebrated at the Eau Gallie Arts District’s (EGAD) Women We Love Luncheon. The third annual event is on March 7, 2018. The catered luncheon is under a big tent in Historic Rossetter House’s lovely garden. At the luncheon, we celebrate the stories shared between women friends, coworkers, and mentors.  While we honor all of us, EGAD also will select a special honoree who has made a tremendous contribution to EGAD and deserves recognition she rarely receives.

We are thrilled to have Bank of America as our presenting sponsor and Mary Ann Sperando serve as honorary chairperson for these events. Sperando is a long-time friend of EGAD and has attended the two previous luncheons. “Having fierce women friends is a treasure. Being able to celebrate with them in this way is a great honor,” Sperando said.

Because so many people wish to participate but are not easily available for a two-hour lunch, we have expanded this event to include a Cocktail Reception with Friends the next day, where EGAD will celebrate an unsung hero from the nonprofit world. We are actively soliciting nominations from the nonprofit community to celebrate an unsung hero. The top five finalists will be notified on Valentine's Day and receive complimentary invitations to attend the Cocktail with Friends Reception on March 8 at Victoria Landing. There, the winner will be announced. The nonprofit that nominated the winner will receive a donation in her honor.

For complete details on the event, visit www.eaugallieartsdistrict.com/women-we-love. You may complete the nomination form online (deadline is Jan. 22), as well as download the sponsorship form to place your business before over 200 of Brevard County’s most distinguished and remarkable women, all with a story to tell. Tickets will be sold online at the end of January and include both individual tickets and reserved tables for eight.

The luncheon is limited to 80 people to allow plenty of time for storytelling, which allows for guests who came with a friend to leave feeling as though they just made 78 new friends. The reception is more flexible and will be held on Victoria Landing’s beautiful pool deck with a commanding view of the Indian River. If you have a special friendship, sister, coworker, mentor or neighbor you would love to celebrate, this is your opportunity to do so in beautiful settings for both celebrations. Join us!
