This conceptual study explores how a proposed development on the site of the Foosaner Art Museum has the potential to bring added energy to an already thriving district. The proposed increases retail along Highland Avenue, a new 10-concept Food Hall & Marketplace, a boutique hotel, parking garage and additional surface parking and site features. These new elements seek to facilitate increased opportunities for new greenways and pathways around the sites, connecting residents and visitors to water, parks and businesses. The proposed respects the eclectic, artistic character that makes this area such an unique contribution to Melbourne’s urban fabric, paying tribute to its history with a future-forward mentality.
