Emerald City 5K 2019- There’s No Place Like Home

It’s not too early to don your ruby-red running shoes and start training for the 2019 Emerald City 5K to benefit Family Promise of Brevard. The annual event brings families and our community together to raise awareness of family homeless and the programs Family Promise provides to address the issue.

Emerald City features a 5K race managed by Running Zone, DJ music provided by Timmy V, a kids fun run, food, prizes and finisher medals for all participants to cross the finish line!

The fun filled evening takes place on Friday, March 1, 2019 at Church of Viera in Viera, FL. With Allen & Company as the title sponsor, and a beautiful Wesche Jewelers Emerald pendant valued at $2000 as the Grand Prize, this year’s event will be one to remember!

Every registered participant will receive one virtual key to unlock the Emerald, each member of a team receives two keys, and the largest registered team will be given three keys per team member. You could hold the key to unlock the Emerald!

By partnering with local churches, community groups and other non-profits, Family Promise of Brevard provides shelter and meals for families who have nowhere else to turn. We keep families together during the sheltering process and support them through personalized case management to connect them with stable housing and the resources they need to find their pathway home.

Family Promise opened its doors in 2013, with a mission to equip and empower families to overcome incredibly difficult situations together. ‘Emerald City- There’s No Place Like Home’ is one way for you to help support their mission!
