Chamber Announces 32nd Annual (Virtual) Business Champion of the Year Award Winners

The Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce presented its Business Champion of the Year Awards to four area companies at its 32nd Annual Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, September 29.

The winners are:

Start-Up Business Champion: Cool Rays Air Conditioning and Heating Small Business Champion: Ryan Reporting
Medium Business Champion: Sorensen Moving & Storage
Non-Profit Business Champion: Space Coast Recovery

All nominees in each category were recognized. Representatives of the event’s major sponsors made presentations to the winners.

“In a year like 2020, it’s important now more than ever to recognize the resilience and perseverance of Brevard’s business community,” said Jennifer Sugarman, President & CEO of the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce.

“In light of the outstanding organizations that were nominated, choosing only one per category was not easy for our judges; perseverance for a business during a global pandemic means to me that they are all winners.”

Kathryn Rudloff, Executive Director, weVENTURETM at FloridaTech Bisk College of Business was the keynote speaker of the evening with her presentation, Rising to the Challenge. All of the nominees for this award have risen to the challenge during COVID-19!

In reciprocation for each paid attendee, each guest received two $5 gift cards from Chamber partner restaurants, Fishlips Waterfront Bar & Grill and Texas Roadhouse Viera. This was in an effort to support local restaurants as they continue to recover from the devastating economic impacts of COVID-19.

The Title Sponsor was Waste Management. Executive sponsors were: Cedar Creek Life Center, Florida Power & Light Company, Florida Today, and Hometown News Media Group; and Wild Ocean Market. Corporate Sponsors were: Beachside Hotel & Suites and MorseCom. Special thanks to all of the Chamber’s Board of Directors for supporting this event with a sponsorship.
