Green Gales gets Award for Creativity in Public Relations

Green Gables, a living history museum and educational community center in Melbourne, FL, was awarded the Bronze Flagler Award for creativity in public relations at the August 30, 2022 Florida Governor's Conference on Tourism in Boca Raton.

Competing with giants in the industry with budgets of $500 thousand to $5 million, Green Gables beat the odds agains organizations, such as: Visit St Petersburg, Amelia Island Conference and Tourism Council and Visit Central Florida.

The winning entry was a video called Wash Your Hands by Jennifer East. The video is based on the parody song written by Marion Ambrose and sung by Lynn Carol and Anna East. It was created at the beginning of the pandemic with videos from the children and teachers at Holy Name of Jesus School in Indialantic, Florida.

Filmed during the quarantine phase, this video helped give children a reason to smile. This was a zero budget, passion project – completely by volunteers.

Green Gables channels all donations and funds to the purchase and restoration of their 127-year old Queen Anne Victorian home and acre and a third of green space that surrounds it. Visit Green Gables website to learn more: https://greengables.org/home
