Heroic New Summer Camp Available For Grades 3-5

Three local agencies have joined together to create a summer camp concept that will not only inspire your child toward the study of Science, Technology, Engineering, Art or Math (STEAM), but will also acquaint them with the heroes of everyday life...and their own ability to be a hero!

Heroes of STEAM Summer Camp is a collaborative e ort
between the American Space Museum, the Titusville Fire Depart-
ment and the American Police Hall of Fame. The camp will be o ered twice over the summer-- from June 24-26 and from July 29-31, 1:30-4:30 p.m. each day -- and will serve children en-tering grades three through ve. The cost is $60 per child and this includes all the activities and materials o ered during the three-day camp, as well as a camp t-shirt. The camp is limited to 16students.

Each day of the three day camp will take place at a di erent venue, with day one being spentat the American Space Museum, 308 Pine St. in Titusville, day two at the Titusville Fire Depart- ment at 550 S. Washington Ave, and day three at the American Police Hall of Fame, 6350 Hori- zon Drive.

Transportation is not provided by the agencies. Caregivers are responsible for dropping o and picking up their children at each location.

The daily STEAM themes at each facility will tie together with the themes of the previous day and venue. Campers will tour each facility and then work together in teams to problem-solvewith a hands-on learning approach. Activities will include rocket building and launching, re science and re hose demonstrations, nger print analysis and solving the mysteries of a mockcrime scene.

“We are so excited to be partnering with these two ne organizations,” said Chrissy Sokol,Museum Education Director at the American Police Hall of Fame. “We’ve put our heads togeth- er and developed a camp concept that will really challenge, educate and entertain the students. Ithink the teachers are looking forward to it as much as the students!”

Space is limited. The registration deadline for the rst camp session is June 14 and for the second session, July 19. Cancellations can be made up until June 17 for the rst session and July22 for the second.
