Taste of the Coast: More than food

Taste of the Coast 2016

Food lovers have a lot to look forward to at the fourth annual Taste of the Coast, an event where local restaurants and businesses showcase and share their best with the community.

Each fall, the Cocoa Beach Regional Chamber of Commerce (CBRCC) and its partners converge at the Cocoa Beach Country Club, and it’s happening again this year — you can come meet Space Coast restaurants and businesses on Friday, September 22, from 5:30-8:30 p.m.

Attendees flock to this event to indulge in the eclectic flavors of Brevard County restaurants. A favorite feature has been the ability to vote for the coveted “people’s choice” title. Last year, more than 15 restaurants competed with specialties ranging from chowder to desserts, appetizers, seafood, main courses and more.

While the event’s bread and butter is the amazing food, it is so much more than a culinary competition. The CBRCC is comprised of more than 1,500 business partners, many who proudly display their work at this event. As attendees walk around the large display room and enjoy the food from each restaurant, they also are exposed to information about what local businesses have to offer. The sense of community and the pride that the partners have in their life’s work is evident.

This homegrown event continues to expand each year with more of the community and also tourists visiting to partake in tasting our coast. Alongside the food competitors and local businesses, the event also boasts a silent auction room with desirable prize packages that range from hotel getaways to fine art, day outings, tickets to attractions and tours, and much more. Local radio station and Chamber partner 98.5 the Beach will be in attendance with their prize wheel and have giveaways throughout the night. Guests will be entertained by a live band and have access to two bars, including samples of locally brewed beers from Florida Beer Company.

The Chamber welcomes all Space Coast residents and visitors to come and partake in this banner event. There’s nothing better than supporting local business and tasting delicious food while doing so. Come taste and vote for your favorite at this year’s Taste of the Coast.
