Born on March 17, 1919, in Montgomery, Alabama, Nat King Cole was an American musician who first came to prominence as a jazz pianist. He owes most of his popular musical fame to his soft baritone voice, which he used to perform in big band and jazz genres. In 1956, Cole became the first African-American performer to host a variety television series, and for many white families, he was the first black man welcomed into their living rooms each night. He has maintained worldwide popularity since his death in 1965.

Songs include Mona Lisa, Route 66, Smile, It's Only A Paper Moon, Nature Boy, Straighten Up And Fly Right, Let There Be Love, Too Young, Orange Colored Sky, and Unforgettable.

Originally from New Jersey, Dave DeLuca is an accomplished singer, songwriter, musician and recording engineer who has been performing for over 30 years. He is a member of the Songwriter's Guild of America and has had songs published by BMI. In December 2011, Dave auditioned for and won a starring role in the Count Basie Theatre's "5th Annual Sinatra Birthday Bash," beating out hundreds of other hopeful performers. He is currently overseeing production of "The Star-Spangled Songbook", a tribute to the great American composers and lyricists who crafted our body of popular standards, for a future airing on PBS.

Admission is free. For more information or to register for seating please call the library at (321) 633-1792.

Vinyasa Yoga

Vinyasa Yoga The Yoga Garden
Date: Event occurs every Wednesday of every month.
Time: 8:00 am
Location: The Yoga Garden
Address: 1482 Pineapple Ave., Melbourne, FL, 32935
Category: Health
Vinyasa Yoga is a dynamic practice where breath and movement are seamlessly united, creating a steady, flowing sequence of postures. Vinyasa classes are inspired by the Ashtanga yoga practice, yet each class has a unique focus or intention within the body and mind.

This class is structured to begin with breath work, passive stretching and a slow moving warmup, finding its peak with a steady flow (known as Surya Namaskar) and strong standing postures to build heat in the body. We will then wind back down with soothing postures and, of course, a final rest in savasana. Each Vinyasa class will offer a practice that is both challenging and relaxing to the practitioner, and modifications will be offered to accommodate all levels.
