Bobbi Q. Brown is the October Artist of the Month at the Studios of Cocoa Beach. Watercolor is her first love, but she also works with acrylics, pastels and alcohol ink, experimenting and exploring how to best capture the essence of her subjects. As an artist her goal is to show viewers a different point of view, a unique vision that they will carry home with them.

She began doing portraits in elementary school. Her career began during the 25 years she lived in California where she painted and sold one-of-a-kind jewelry and hand painted clothing in boutiques in the San Diego area. She also worked in interior design, computer graphics and as a muralist.
Bobbis award-winning art has been shown from coast to coast and is in private and corporate collections around the world. Time: All Day Event
Location: Studios of Cocoa Beach
Address: 165 Minuteman Causeway, Cocoa Beach

Category: Arts / Exhibits
Bobbi Q. Brown is the October Artist of the Month at the Studios of Cocoa Beach. Best known for her loose, bold, colorful watercolor paintings, Bobbi loves the challenge of starting with a blank piece of paper and using her artistic skills to bring the subject matter to life. Watercolor is her first love, but she also works with acrylics, pastels and alcohol ink, experimenting and exploring how to best capture the essence of her subjects. As an artist her goal is to show viewers a different point of view, a unique vision that they will carry home with them.
Bobbi was born in Berea, Ohio, a suburb of Cleveland. Always a creative child, she loved designing, drawing or sewing clothing for her paper dolls, dolls and trolls.
Locally her artwork can be seen at the Studios of Cocoa Beach and the Strawbridge Art League Gallery in Melbourne. She is a member of the Brevard and Florida Watercolor Societies, and the International Society of Experimental Artists.
She also teaches classes and workshops in watercolor and alcohol ink. For more information, please check out her website, BobbiQBrown.com.
Bobbis work can be viewed daily at the Studios of Cocoa Beach, 165 Minuteman Causeway in downtown Cocoa Beach. A print of her watercolor Hidden Gems will be the prize in the Studios October giveaway. To enter this free drawing, stop by the Studios any day in October. This nonprofit gallery is open Monday Monday and Tuesday 10:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Wednesday through Saturday 10:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For more information about exhibits, artists and workshop schedules, call the Studios at 321-613-3480 or visit the website

The legend of Frankenstein gets a provocative modern update in the stylishly disturbing new film from indie horror master Larry Fessenden. Suffering from PTSD following his stint as an army medic, Henry (David Call) now works feverishly in his Brooklyn laboratory to forget the death he witnessed overseas by creating life in the form of a man cobbled together from body parts. After procuring a brain from an unwitting victim, his creation Adam (Alex Breaux) is born. But it soon seems that giving life to Adam was the easy part; teaching him how to live in a dark and troubled world may be perilous. A complex, emotionally shattering tale about what it means to be human, Depraved brings Mary Shelleys immortal fable fully into the 21st century.
