Sorelli Celebrates 10 years of Family & Friends
The newly renovated salon at Sorelli Hair Studio and Spa in Suntree has a fresh and modern feel — the perfect way to celebrate a 10-year anniversary. When it comes to this salon and spa, it can be difficult to tell clients, family and friends apart. And that has been a key to success.
Sorelli (which means sisters in Italian) Spa owners and sisters, Rose Cally and Grace Ruano, have been in the hair care business more than half their lives. It runs in their blood.
“All the women on our mother’s side have cut hair — and even our grandfather cut (baseball legend) Yogi Berra’s hair,” said Rose, 47.
That legacy continues with Rose’s daughter, Julianna Cally, who has been helping at the salon since she was 11. While not a hair stylist, Julianna, now 21, has an integral role in the family business. She joins her mother and aunt when home from college.
Talking with these three ladies feels like hanging out with trusted friends, who truly enjoy their profession.
“I love what I do,” Rose said. The three share stories, reminisce about the salon business, laugh and listen comfortably and easily. Their family bond and their passion for what they do influences the way they run Sorelli.
Clients of all ages (their oldest is 101), male and female, feel like friends. In the intimacy and confidentiality of the salon, clients can relax and trust they are in good hands.
“We are like therapists,” Rose said. While helping clients look and feel their best, stylists sometimes hear intimate details about their lives. It is part of the job.
“We take that confidentiality seriously,” Rose said.
Stephanie Filippi-Brown has been a client at Sorelli’s for seven years. She said she values the family atmosphere and Rose and Grace’s commitment to their clients.
“They put their clients first,” said Stephanie, who likes to see the sisters’ parents, spouses and children in the salon. “The environment is like a big family. If I need to come in, Rose will make it happen. Rose and Grace want to make their clients happy.”
The staff of the recently renovated Sorelli Hair Studio and Spa is embracing their 10th anniversary in November. After 10 years at the salon, a full renovation seemed a natural way to celebrate their success and their clients. The updated facility, which took nine months to complete, offers intimate spa service rooms for massages, facials and waxing, as well as a lively and open hair salon.
But don’t expect things to stay the way they are for long.
“We are always updating our products and services,” Rose said.
“We continually educate our staff,” Grace said.
