Women everywhere are journeying together in the Relentless Pursuit
I don’t know about you, but as we head into our 6th month of social distancing, I am craving real, meaningful connection with other women. It is not just because I am home with my husband and three young boys all the time. This pandemic has raised all sorts of challenges that feel unique to just me. However, I have read article after article about how working women everywhere are struggling to balance work and life now that the two are mashed together; about how female leaders are rising to the challenge as they lead with decisive empathy; and how women from all walks of life are speaking up, seizing opportunities to shape what our new normal will look like going forward and demand changes that are long overdue.
And of course, as Executive Director of weVENTURE, the women’s business center at Florida Tech, I have been so inspired by our clients who have moved heaven and earth to protect their businesses and employees.
If there is one thing I have learned from this pandemic, it is that women everywhere are journeying together in the Relentless Pursuit of gender equality at work and home; of professional success; and the desire not just to survive day to day, but to thrive.
That is the theme we will be exploring during the 2020 virtual IMPACT Summit, sponsored by Bisk Ventures. An outstanding slate of national speakers will inspire and motivate professional women and small business leaders who want to pursue diversity in their leadership ranks. The pre-recorded video presentation will feature two hours of inspiring stories and expert insights. Registered participants will have the opportunity to come together virtually or plan their own small group watch parties to discuss “The Relentless Pursuit” that drives women, entrepreneurs and all humans to persist when faced with a great challenge.
The entire event has been designed to bring people together in socially distant, safe ways because we believe maintaining a sense of community is critical to our ability to carry on during this unprecedented crisis.
