 Walmart to Host Job Information Sessions for Cocoa Grocery Distribution Center

Plans to hire 375 full-time associates for new perishable facility, starting pay at $16.05 per hour

What:

The Walmart Cocoa Grocery Distribution Center is hosting two job information sessions for area residents Saturday, April 14, and Saturday, April 28. Attendees will learn details on the new perishable distribution center, jobs available, benefits, the application process and have an opportunity to meet one-on-one with the management team.

The new $145 million, 550,000-square-foot facility will distribute perishable food to Walmart stores throughout Florida.

The Cocoa Distribution Center will employ more than 400 associates once open, including quality control, power equipment operators, compliance, maintenance, freight handlers, area managers and more. Wages for full-time hourly associates start at $16.05 per hour and will reach $19.55 per hour over a two-and-a-half-year progression. Hourly associates are also eligible for additional compensation based on their work area, shift and schedule. All positions are considered full time qualifying for benefits, including medical and dental insurance, 401K matching, an Associate Stock Purchase Program, paid time off, and a quarterly incentive program.

The Cocoa Distribution Center complements Walmart’s Florida presence of more than 375 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations, employing more than 108,000 associates across the state.
