ST. FRANCIS REFLECTIONS WELCOMES NEW CHIEF PHILANTHROPIC OFFICER

St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care, Brevard County’s longest-serving, interfaith, not-for-profit hospice, palliative care and grief support provider has recently added a new Chief Philanthropic Officer to the executive leadership team, Shawn A. Bassham.

Bassham relocated to the community after spending the last two decades of her career in philanthropic and operational leadership positions in Wyoming and Idaho.  In her most recent positions, Bassham served as a Leadership Consultant with the Children’s Village Incorporated and Foundation and as the President of the Kootenai Health Foundation in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho.  She has also served as the Executive Director of the Wyoming Medical Center Foundation in Casper, WY and as the State Director for Program Services and Public Affairs for the March of Dimes.  

In announcing Bassham’s addition to the leadership team, Joe Killian, President and CEO of St. Francis Reflections Lifestage Care lauded Bassham’s background in healthcare philanthropic leadership in addition to her experience with community-based, not-for-profit organizations are important resources for St. Francis Reflections’ charitable giving arm.

“Shawn’s strong background in healthcare philanthropy coupled with her broad range of experience in healthcare operations are very important to the work of our Foundation and the reach of our services offered at no charge.  Shawn is a seasoned professional who will lead our fundraising efforts so that our community based programs such as grief support and Veteran’s services can continue to expand to serve the community of Brevard,” said Killian.

Bassham holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Seattle Pacific University and a Master’s in Education from Colorado State University.  She is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and a Certified Fund Raising Executive.  She and her husband have two adult sons and make their home in Viera.
