The Space Coast chapter of the Florida Public Relations Association recognized the area’s best work in public relations, marketing and communications during its annual Image Awards event held on April 28, 2023, at Rising Tide. The chapter Image Awards competition is conducted annually to recognize outstanding public relations programs and to encourage and promote the development of the public relations professionalism in our area.
Winners demonstrate the very best examples of innovation, planning, and design. The competition recognizes work in four divisions: Public Relations Programs, Collateral of Public Relations, Digital Tools of Public Relations and Student Projects in Public Relations. Awards were presented by VP of Image Awards, Meagan Happel, and were sponsored by Launch Credit Union.
The Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization and Lockheed Martin earned the highest award, an Image Award. These awards may be presented to the top-scoring entry in each category if the entry rises to a level of excellence set by the judges. Only one Image Award is presented in each category.
- Space Coast Transportation Planning Organization 2022 Annual Report, submitted by on behalf of SCTPO by Abby Hemenway, APR.
- Lockheed Martin Launches Inaugural Space Impact Week – recognizing World Space Week, submitted on behalf of Lockheed Martin by Nina Salvaggio Wagner, APR, Carlee Craddock, and Rachel Leasure.
Awards of Distinctionmay be presented to entries that meet the criteria of excellence set by the judges. Earning Awards of Distinction were:
- Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex for Gateway: The Deep Space Launch, submitted by Ashlynn Webb and Rebecca Burgman.
Judges Awards are presented by judges for an outstanding entry that achieves maximum return on investment. Earning Judges Award were:
- Launch Credit Union Review Strategy, submitted by Carlee Mixon.
“I’m incredibly proud of our winners this year, one of whom was a first time submitter and one who this was her first time submitting on her own,” said Meagan Happel, VP of Image Awards for the Space Coast chapter. “I look forward to seeing them and others from our chapter submit for Golden Image Awards at State.”
Participation in the Image Awards is not required to enter at the statewide level for the FPRA’s Golden Image Awards. Golden Image Awards entries are open and due by May 9 for a discounted rate, with a final deadline of May 15, 2022. Those awards will be presented at FPRA’s 84rd Annual Conference, held at The Waldorf Astoria Orlando n August.
