Dermatology + Plastic Surgery

Building Lifelong Relationships Through Synergistic Care

If your New Year’s goals include becoming the best version of you, then it might be time to schedule a consultation with Dermatology + Plastic Surgery. Doctors Anita Saluja, Rebecca Novo and Renee Gasgarth recently added a new beachside location to their thriving Viera practice to better serve patients throughout Brevard County. Their goal is to maintain a modern medical practice, offering results-focused procedures right here on the Space Coast.

Doctors Saluja and Novo combined their plastic surgery and dermatology practices almost five years ago, giving patients access to the most innovative procedures from both specialties under one roof in Suntree. The practice grew quickly, adding space each year, and they opened the new Indialantic location in November 2021.

Also in 2021, due to rising demand, Drs. Novo and Saluja decided to add an additional plastic surgeon to the team. Dr. Gasgarath previously trained alongside Dr. Novo at the University of Miami and is double board certified in both general surgery and plastic surgery, with additional fellowship training in ocular and facial aesthetics. The team is looking to add a new dermatologist to the practice in 2022.

“I fell in love with surgery as a third-year medical resident,” Gasgarth said. “I loved the ritual and I loved helping people. I loved that in plastics we could operate all over the body, we had a huge age range of patients, and we get to build a lifelong relationship with them.”

Drs. Saluja, Novo, and Gasgarth hold the doctor-patient relationship as special. They strive to give their patients refreshed, natural results, while also making procedures as comfortable as possible. The highly specialized medical team also prioritizes education for themselves, their team and their patients. An extensive website, their own YouTube channel, and the “For Your Best Self” podcast are just some of the ways patients can learn about the scope of procedures Dermatology + Plastic Surgery has to offer.

Building Relationships

Shelley Mertins has experienced synergistic care under each portion of the practice. She first began seeing Dr. Saluja back in 2017 after being diagnosed with melanoma for the second time. She returns for routine skin checks as well as aesthetic procedures, such as Botox and skin peels.

“They really understand their patients and take their time to make them feel comfortable,” Mertins said. “I can’t go back in time, but with regular visits and high quality products, like their Isdin sunscreen, I can repair the damage and keep my skin as healthy as possible.”

Dermatology + Plastic Surgery’s over 14,000 patients come from all walks of life. The practice serves men and women of all ages. But at Dermatology + Plastic Surgery, patients are much more than a number.

“Our model is a lifelong relationship,” Novo said. “Our goal is continuity of care, whether that is a skin check, or a monthly Hydrafacial, or quarterly Botox . Even if I am doing surgery, we are getting you through the recovery and we are going to take care of your skin health, too.”

Dermatology + Plastic Surgery is uniquely suited to help patients with skin care needs specific to Florida residents. The medical team is skin cancer focused, encouraging patients to get regular screenings, collaborating with expert aestheticians, aesthetic dermatologic and plastic surgeons to offer medical-grade skin care to address a range of complexion and aging concerns, including several types of resurfacing to repair sun-damaged skin.

One of Dr. Novo’s signature procedures is the Hetter Chemical Peel, which smoothes wrinkles and reverses sun damage. She is the only doctor in Brevard county currently offering this procedure.

Many Brevard residents have been trusting their skin to Dr. Saluja for years. With 2021 marking 20 years in practice, it’s no surprise Saluja is among the top 1% of injectors in the country in both Botox and Sculptra, as ranked by both of those companies.

“What I like best about what I do is that I get to form long-term relationships and my team and I get to be a part of a patient's skin health, beauty, and anti-aging journey,” Saluja said. “Plus, I love to learn — the industry is always advancing — and I love to inject!”

Team & Community

A highly skilled team of physician’s associates and licensed medical aestheticians work alongside Drs. Saluja, Novo and Gasgarth, helping patients maintain their skin health and reach their goals. Aestheticians perform skin rejuvenation procedures such as radiofrequency microneedling to improve skin elasticity and balance complexion. They also improve scalp health and combat hair thinning and loss with platelet rich fibrin and HydraFacial Keravive treatments.

“We are big on synergy,” Novo said. “Having a team of skilled professionals who are all there to give each patient an individual, tailored experience is to their benefit.”

Drs. Saluja, Novo and Gasgarth take pride in supporting and uplifting our community and participate in local charitable events. They are always quick to support their patients’ causes, as well as their own personal passions through generous donations of funds and services.

“This pandemic has made so many things challenging,” Saluja said. “We support where we can and love causes that are local and those that involve children, culture, education, and women.

“We truly are invested in guiding patients through their journey,” Novo said. “Whether that takes one of us or all of us, the collaboration helps the patient accomplish their goals.”
